El Paso County Parks Department comments: El Paso County Parks staff attended the Early Assistance Meeting for this project and have additional comments below. The 2022 El Paso County Parks Master Plan shows an impact to the proposed Fox Run Primary Regional Trail. The Master Plan shows this trail alignment along the south side of Hodgen Road. EPC Parks has already acquired or is in the process of acquiring trail easements along this proposed trail corridor, most notably in the proposed Flying Horse North development located east of this project site. The El Paso County Parks Department staff will require a 25' regional trail easement located along the northern boundary of the site, but located outside of the existing or proposed right-of-way for Hodgen Road, as well as any utility easements, particularly gas line easements, which are known to exist along the south side of Hodgen Road. Please show the proposed trail easement on any forthcoming preliminary plans and final plats. Also, regional park fees will be assessed upon review of said preliminary plans and final plat.
