Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has reviewed the plans for 14550 N. Meridian Rd co locate tower in El Paso County. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is in receipt of the above referenced permit application and is familiar with the site. Based both on the location and type of action that has been taken CPW anticipates that the impacts to the wildlife resource from this project would be negligible. We appreciate being given the opportunity to comment. The address assigned to the lot is 14550 N Meridian Road. This address is for the Fire Station. The address assigned to the Tower is 14540 N Meridian Road. The tower is assigned one address and each carrier attached to a tower will receive a separate address from the tower address. Dish Wireless address for this site will be 14542 N Meridian Road. The Colorado State Forest Service recommends that all forested acres be mitigated to reduce the risk of wildfire and that defensible space be created around infrastructure using the standards in the CSFS "Home Ignition Zone Guide" (formerly known as "Quick Guide FIRE 2012-1: Protecting Your Home From Wildfire") located on the Colorado State Forest Service website. https://csfs.colostate.edu/media/sites/22/2021/04/2021_CSFS_HIZGuide_Web.pdf In addition, we recommend that all wildfire mitigation be completed before or during construction. |
