Applicants shall demonstrate full compliance and conformance with El Paso County’s adopted Land Development Code (LDC), Engineering Criteria Manual (ECM), adopted International Fire Code (IFC), and all other adopted codes, provisions, or statutes that impact fire safety to include access/egress, water supply, hardening of structures, addressing, fire protection systems, etc. The applicant shall submit a comprehensive fire protection report from a qualified fire protection engineer that is licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Colorado State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers to demonstrate conformance to all requirements. Academy District 20 is in receipt of File # AL2322 for approval of The Haven Private School Special Use.. Earlier this month, the District reached out via email and via phone to the listed contact person for The Haven School, Emily Hill. Ms. Hill has not responded to the District. As such, on 8/26/24, the Superintendent drove to the Haven School site on Burgess Road and met with the site coordinator. The Superintendent is just starting to learn more about the school. At this time, the District is not taking a specific stance regarding the special use permit application, as we are still trying to learn more about the school.
