Reclamation of the site must be in accordance with all site permits. If alternative fills are proposed for the site, these uses must be approved by the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division's Permitting Unit. If necessary, a beneficial use determination must be made on any alternative fills for reclamation of the site prior to their use. The site should not be used for the disposal of regulated wastes. 11/18/2022 1:11:31 PM

Colorado Geological Survey understands Solberg Gravel LLC and the Solberg Gravel Pit operator, Pioneer Landscaping Materials Inc., propose a 79-acre expansion of the Solberg Gravel Pit located at 5445 Curtis Road, Peyton. The available referral documents include a Soils & Geology Report, Solberg Pit, Peyton, Colorado (Haley & Aldrich, Inc. File No. 0204990-001, July 28, 2022).

The site is not undermined, and no geologic hazards are known or suspected to be present that would preclude approval of the expansion and special use amendment as proposed.

The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (DRMS) approved Amendment No. 3 to mining permit M-1981-044 (Solberg Pit) on August 16, 2022. Provided the pit is operated and reclaimed in accordance with mining and reclamation plans approved by DRMS, CGS has no objection to approval of AL2218.
