Page 13 of the Plan states that due to growth in Teller County over the last 30 years, the services and retail establishments available are leading to a decline in travelers from Teller to El Paso County for these services. There is no consideration, however, of travelers from El Paso County to Teller County for these services and retail establishments. There is indication of the natural resources Teller County has to offer, but no discussion of daily travel from other Counties to utilize these natural resources. | 10/29/2020 9:54:06 AM

There may be a need to include discussion on the increased traffic along US Hwy 24 through Ute Pass. Page 40 of the proposed GMP states: “It is assumed that the majority of employment opportunities for Teller County residents will continue to be provided in El Paso County. Teller County and its Communities have recognized this important aspect of our economy. An unfortunate downside of this has been a dramatic increase in traffic on US HWY 24. This problem will get worse in the future as our population increases and serious consideration should be examined in the future for alternatives.” It would be beneficial to discuss this issue and mitigation strategies sooner rather than later and incorporate them into this Plan. | 10/29/2020 9:53:43 AM
