Upper Black Squirrel Creek GWMD

The Upper Black Squirrel does not have issue with Ms.Duran trying to come into compliance with the amount of dogs she has, however they do have some concerns regarding the amount of water it takes for this many animal. Ms. Duran's well permit with no. 178010 only allows .8 acre-feet per year in the Arapahoe aquifer. That is for everything, her domestic uses, and she is allowed 1/4 acre of lawn and garden irrigation and the watering of the owners domestic animals. The applicant would be in violation of her well permit if she goes over .8 acre-feet per year. There is supposed to be a totalizing flow meter installed as well and records can be requested by the State and management district. If the applicant changes her mind and decides to make this a commercial operation she would also need to change her well permit to include that use. Please advise how much water Ms. Duran uses for her 15 dogs. The district may have additional comments. |
