While the proposal states that these structures have no effect on neighboring properties, this is incorrect. My property has been adversely affected. These effects include:

* Builders drove three-inch woodscrews through the shared fence (though by the positioning of fence segments, the fence belongs to my property). This has left sharp, dangerous spikes on my side of the fence. My dog has already received one injury from these protruding screws.
* Increased flies and pests since the expansion of the chicken coop. It is difficult to enjoy our back porch.
* Increased, overwhelming aromas of chicken feces on our property. I do not know how often they clean the coop.
* Decreased property values from the addition of unsightly buildings on the other side of the fence.

I sympathize with my neighbor's dilemma, but financial hardship is not one of the approved reasons for granting a variance. I ask that this variance not be granted.
