Pikes Peak Regional Building Department

The barn may have been considered to be agricultural prior without a permit with RBD but, now will require a permit to convert with Regional Building department. The barn will now retain a separate address from the main Vet clinic. The address for the proposed conversion will be assigned once the location of this structure is made clear. Amy Vanderbeek |

Will the existing building and proposed office have an engineered fire suppression system and/or a FACP with smoke detectors and combination horn/strobe devices? Parking lot and driveway dimensions for Fire Apparatus. If I'm reading this correctly, during quarterly meetings there could be a maximum of 22 people in the office? | 9/28/2020 1:44:24 PM

Black Forest Land Use Committee
9/24/2020 7:45:57 PM |
The Black Forest Land Use Committee finds this proposal within the guidelines of the Black Forest Preservation Plan. This Plan specifies that commercial should be contained within a quarter mile circle centered at Black Forest Road and Shoup Road as well as Black Forest Road and Burgess Road. This proposal fits within that circle. This is a very low impact commercial that will not impact traffic and is being designed to blend into the hillside. It might be unfortunate that a private residence lies between this property and the intersection of Black Forest Road and Shoup Road, but this is not the only case where private residences lie within the quarter mile circle. The fact that the "barn" was built under the agricultural zoning is a case of semantics because a storage building such as this could be built on a commercial lot so opposition to this is not credible. | 9/24/2020 7:45:57 PM
