I had the honor of living in the home on the FMF property from Feb. 2021 - Feb. 2025 and actively leased and resided there during all operational seasons. The farm operates only during scheduled weekends from roughly 10am–4pm/5pm — not 24/7. As the person most directly impacted, I can honestly say the visitors, traffic, and parking were never an issue for my family.
What was disruptive were the repeated complaints, calls to the sheriff, and ongoing harassment from the neighboring property to the north, including entering private property and confronting us over activities like clay shooting. The owners of FMF have been respected members of this neighborhood since 1996 and are well regarded by nearly everyone in the area.

The attraction operates only 21–27 days per year for limited daytime hours, not year-round. For perspective, the neighboring dog barking constantly at the shared property line was far more disruptive to our daily life than guests visiting the farm ever were.

As a District 38 bus driver, I’ve driven by Fall Mountain Farm OFTEN and whether at high volume morning times & afternoon times during student pickup & drop-off, rarely do I experience more than a vehicle or two in that area. Therefore, I fully support Fall Mountain Farm’s very reasonable request. By the way, I live not far from the Farm on Arnold Ave, a main access road and have no issues with traffic to there. FMF truly contributes positively to our community. They honestly deserve approval. Thank you.

Fall Mountain Farm is such an important part of our community, both for families that enjoy the fall festival as well as for the kids that get to visit and work with the animals on a regular basis. I believe it's so important for kids to be exposed to the outdoors more now than ever and Fall Mountain Farm provides that. We live just off of Doolittle Rd and we've never seen or heard of an issue with the traffic that goes by our house or our neighbors. Also, they've always done such a great job at directing traffic once visitors are on the property to ensure safety. Please allow them to continue functioning as they have and more.

My family and I visited Fall Mountain Farm last year on one of the busiest fall weekends, and there were definitely over 150 cars there. We had no issues getting in or out, traffic moved fine, and it never felt overcrowded. Everything ran smoothly. I honestly don’t understand the concern with allowing the same parking they successfully had last year. Granting this would allow more families to experience a place that has become so meaningful to the Monument community and has created so many special memories for families and children.

I fully support Fall Mountain Farm's request for additional parking. As a nearby resident, I have not experienced any additional traffic or safety concerns related to the farm's events. The farm has become a valued part of our community, providing a unique local attraction that families and visitors truly enjoy! We need more small businesses like this one and it is wonderful to see residents being able to use their land in this way. Allowing additional parking will help the farm to continue to serve the community without negatively impacting neighboring residents. Steve and Fall Mountain Farm, we support you!

Fall Mountain Farm provides education, community, resources and adds so much value to the growing town of Monument. We commute weekly to the farm through the neighborhood. We have not had any problems with traffic in and around the farm. Please consider granting the request for more spaces. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

I support this deal because the town deserves greatness and great people like Steve. The town is being flooded by liberals who just care about the environment and not making the town great. All of the backlash is coming from uneducated rift raft pouring in from foreign countries and liberal cities. I’m sorry you got your feelings hurt. Now it’s time for real men to take over the town.

The roads in this area are too small for a tourist attraction. If there was a fire, the residents who’ve lived here for years would be trapped in traffic because of the amount of anticipated tourists the Fall Mountain Farm plans to accommodate. We’ve had traffic issues in Monument for a long time. Developments like this do nothing for us except for the benefit of tourism profiteers like Steve at the cost of safety for longtime home owners in our precious town.

I actually live north of this “community project” and I see no benefit to the actual community that lives here. On my property line they have a hay ride that drives right next to my house every ~15 minutes—what do I gain from this—nothing. The only thing me and my community gains is extra traffic; which when it’s in session with 50 cars the traffic is already absurd. The road gets destroyed, I have to wait to get to my home. Not to mention if 225 cars are allowed in the establishment the traffic would be absurd. What would happen to our fire wise community if there’s a fire and 225 cars trying to escape that don’t even live here? The people who actually live in the neighborhood would be at jeopardy. From other comments I have seen everyone mentions that there is no traffic yet they don’t actually live here. There has also been an increase of trash found everywhere, mainly including my property, which is exactly what we need less of.

I whole heartedly am against this. I’ve lived in monument since I was a kid and I’ve seen many similar cash grabs happen here. The traffic gets worse, the risk of fire and accidents go through the roof, and I believe it’s immoral. Everyone else in the area who lives there now has to deal with all these negatives that come with this plan. We need to preserve the nature that’s left and not use it for profit. We’re located between two of the biggest cities in the state and don’t need to try turning our otherwise small town into any more of a tourist attraction, especially where this project is. If you care about monument and the environment we have you’d oppose this plan.

Beyond being a place for family experiences, the farm also provides children and visitors the opportunity to learn about and appreciate animals in a hands-on environment. Expanding parking would help ensure the farm can continue properly supporting and caring for its animals by allowing the business to remain successful during its busiest seasons. Farms like this play an important role in teaching younger generations about agriculture, animal care, and responsibility in ways that classrooms simply cannot replicate.

I believe they should be granted a parking expansion so they can continue benefiting the community. Experiences like this help communities grow closer together, especially for children and families who may not otherwise have opportunities to enjoy seasonal activities locally. This is not an indefinite change that would negatively impact everyone’s daily lives year-round. The seasonal benefits far outweigh the temporary inconvenience of potential parking concerns. The farm provides memorable experiences, supports local traditions, and creates a positive space for families to gather during the holiday season. The pros of preserving these family experiences and community traditions greatly outweigh the cons of short-term parking issues.

I have visited Fall Mountain Farm and recommend it for this special use to increase their parking capacity. It serves a wonderful purpose within our community to provide outdoor, fall, fun for children and their families.

It is well-designed, well-cared-for, the animals are wonderful, and it is a positive part of our local community.

Fall Mountain Farms has been in operations for a few years and has zero negative impact on my property. I have not seen any increase in traffic on my road as I live just around the corner. I have not heard any dissent from my neighbors in regards to the farm. I consider the owner a good example of stewardship and I'm glad he is positive part of our community in Herman Estates

To all concerned, I live on the parcel directly to the North of Fall Mountain Farms. the additional parking being requested is fine with us. its for a short period of time the public even uses the parking area and its never been an issue in the past. They run a great operation that brings a lot of kids and even adults Joy and education that would not be possible to support with the current limitation on parking.

Fall Mountain Farm is a place where our community can gather and connect at. Steve has built something truly remarkable that strengthens families from the entire region year after year. To take this away, or limit it in some way, would be a major loss to our community. The transportation is seasonal and has not impacted us in the least! I strongly urge you to allow this special use permit to be granted.

To increase traffic in a wild fire danger area with little regard to me and our neighbors goes against what this neighborhood has built in the past decade (Firewise certification). I oppose this farm expansion for increasing the parking lot.

Our family lives two houses down from Fall Mountain Farm on the corner of Doolittle and Remuda. The farm traffic goes along our north property line and we have hardly noticed it. The visitors’ arrivals and departures are staggered and while we notice increased traffic flow, we do not find it congested or bothersome. As a mother of 3 and a fellow agriculture enthusiast, I think having agritainment and opportunities for the community to connect with the land and with community is wonderful! Steve has done an amazing job with the aesthetic of the farm and we are impressed by how well he cares for the land and for his community. I have spoken to many who have visited the farm and have heard nothing but positive reviews. Public access to agriculture is something our community should embrace and I am so grateful that Fall Mountain Farm is there to educate and inspire future generations. As one of the most “heavily impacted” neighbors given our proximity, we have no concerns about parking.

I am in full support of Fall Mountain Farm. The farm experiences they bring to the community are life changing and memorable. The opportunities my kids have had getting to help care for animals and work on the farm will absolutely shape their connection to agriculture, nature and our environment. The traffic has not been an issue at all. Children and families today need any and all connections to nature and Steve and Cathy generously make that available. It would be such a loss if Fall Mountain Farm couldn’t operate as they do now.

As President of the Forest Lakes Homeowners Association, representing 457 households in the community adjacent to Fall Mountain Farms, I am writing in full support of the farm's petition to exceed the 50-car parking limit. Our neighborhood has a front-row perspective on the farm's operations, and I can say with confidence that the increased visitor traffic has not created any measurable impact on the surrounding roads or our community's quality of life.

Beyond the logistics, I want to emphasize how deeply our residents value Fall Mountain Farms as a neighbor and community asset. The farm brings a cherished sense of local character and seasonal tradition that our families have come to love. Many of our homeowners attend the festivals regularly and take great pride in having such a vibrant, community-oriented farm nearby. Restricting attendance through a parking cap would be a disservice not only to the farm, but to the entire surrounding community.
